Connie Stordalen Horizon Middle School Director of Choirs Director of Drama/Musical
Connie Stordalen is in her 25th year of teaching Vocal Music Education in North Dakota. She has taught all grades from K-12. For the past seven years, Connie has been the Director of Choirs at Horizon Middle School in Bismarck, ND. She teaches grades 6-8 vocal music, show choir and is the Middle School Musical Theatre Director. During this time, Connie has also held an Associate Director for Choirs position at Century High School, assisting with the 9-12 choirs and jazz choirs. After receiving her K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music Education degree from North Dakota State University, Connie taught K-5 music in the Grand Forks Public Schools system for 15 years. In addition to her K-5 position, she was one of the Associate Directors with the Grand Cities Children's Choir for several years. During the summer months, she has held multiple positions with two prestigious summer performing arts programs in ND. While in Grand Forks, Connie worked with SPA (Summer Performing Arts) as a Middle School Vocal Music Director, Vocal Coach, and High School Vocal Musical Assistant. While in Bismarck, she has worked with the Bismarck Sleepy Hollow Summer Theatre and Arts Park as the Vocal Musical Director and Middle School Musical Revue Director. Connie is an active member of ND ACDA, serving as the ND President-Elect and NDMEA West Region Choral Representative.She was the Director of the 2015 ND ACDA Middle Level/Junior High Treble Honor Choir, multiple ND ACDA Surround the State in Song choir festivals, vocal adjudicator, and guest director around the State. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Erik, and her children Konnor, Samantha, and MeKayla.
